Breezy and Cold Tuesday Followed by Widespread Freeze

SAN ANGELO, TX - San Angelo and surrounding areas should brace for a breezy and cold Tuesday, with temperatures feeling like the upper 20s to lower 30s in the morning due to wind chills, according to the National Weather Service.

Highs will range from the upper 40s in the Big Country to the lower to mid-50s further south, with north winds at 15 to 20 mph and gusts up to 30 mph.

Overnight into Wednesday morning, temperatures are expected to drop below freezing across the region, with lows ranging from the low to upper 20s.

The freeze is predicted to begin between midnight and 3 a.m., with temperatures rising above freezing by 9 a.m. Sensitive plants and outdoor plumbing should be protected to prevent damage.

Wednesday will bring mostly sunny skies with calmer west winds at 5 to 10 mph, offering some relief from the breezy conditions. Temperatures are expected to gradually warm through the remainder of the week, with highs reaching into the 60s and 70s by the weekend.
