However, residents should brace for a shift in weather as a strong cold front brings the potential for severe thunderstorms on Sunday evening into Monday morning.
The National Weather Service has forecasted a medium to high chance (50% to 90%) of storms, with the potential for damaging winds of 60-70 mph, large hail up to ping-pong-ball size, and isolated tornadoes. Areas across West Central Texas, including San Angelo, face a slight to marginal risk of severe weather.
Looking into next week, temperatures are expected to drop significantly after the storm system passes. Highs will decrease into the 50s by Wednesday, with lows plunging into the upper 30s and possibly reaching freezing in some areas by Thursday morning.
The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies on Saturday, with a high near 77 degrees. On Sunday, rain chances rise to 40% in the afternoon, increasing to a 100% chance of thunderstorms overnight.
