SAN ANGELO, TX – A weak cold front is set to bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to the San Angelo area this afternoon, along with a welcome drop in temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) San Angelo office, the front will create scattered storms across the region, with temperatures dropping to highs in the upper 80s to low 90s in some areas.
The forecast indicates that the primary impacts will be felt today, with a 50% chance of rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Northeastern winds are expected to be light, ranging from 5 to 10 mph. The temperature is predicted to reach the upper 80s north and the upper 90s south.
Saturday will see a slight decrease in storm activity, with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Morning lows will range from the low to mid-70s, and afternoon highs are expected to be in the low to mid-90s. Winds will shift to the southeast at 5-10 mph.
For Sunday, the chance of rain diminishes further to 20%, with partly cloudy skies.
Morning temperatures will again be in the low to mid-70s, while highs will climb to the upper 80s to upper 90s. Light south-southeast winds will prevail.
The trend of slight rain chances continues into Monday and Tuesday, with 20% and 30% chances of showers and thunderstorms.
Both days will have morning lows in the upper 60s to low 70s and highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. Winds are expected to be from the east-southeast at 5-10 mph on Monday and east at 5 mph on Tuesday.
