SAN ANGELO, TX — The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a heat advisory for portions of the Concho Valley and Big Country.
The advisory is in effect today from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., with temperatures expected to soar up to 105 degrees.
Residents are urged to stay indoors and use air conditioning if possible. It is recommended to wear light-colored clothing and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Additionally, a major to extreme heat risk has been forecasted for July 3-4. The heat index values are anticipated to range from 100 to 105 degrees, posing a high risk for heat-related illnesses. The NWS advises residents to stay in air conditioning, hydrate regularly, and consider canceling outdoor activities between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.

- Thursday: Similar conditions with morning lows in the upper 70s and afternoon highs in the lower to mid-100s. Mostly sunny with south winds 10-15 mph. Elevated heat impacts persist.
- Friday: Morning lows in the mid to upper 70s and afternoon highs in the mid to upper 90s. Partly cloudy with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms. East winds 10-15 mph.
- Saturday: Morning lows in the mid-70s and afternoon highs in the low to mid-90s. Partly cloudy with a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms. East-southeast winds 5-10 mph.
- Sunday: Morning lows in the lower to mid-70s and afternoon highs in the mid to upper 90s. Partly cloudy with east-southeast winds 5-10 mph.
