Texas Parks and WIldlife to Stock Concho River on July 3

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Here’s a public service announcement for all fishermen planning to fish the Concho River this weekend and next week during the July 4 festivities.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Inland Fisheries San Angelo District stocked the Concho River in Downtown San Angelo with Channel Catfish on Sunday, June 21, and will again on Wednesday, July 3.

Texas Parks and Wildlife began its restocking initiative on April 12, and restockings continued biweekly thereafter, excluding August.

The 2024 stocking schedule saw Channel Catfish stocked on April 12, April 26, May 10, May 24, June 7, and June 21.

The Concho River sees a special resupply on July 3 in anticipation of Independence Day. The schedule shifts back to the weekends starting July 19. There will be no resupply in August but will resume in September with stockings on the 6th and 20th, October 4 and October 18, and the final restock for the year on November 1.

Remember, the state requires resident fishing licenses for any resident who fishes in the public waters of Texas.
