SAN ANGELO, TX — The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for San Angelo and surrounding areas again from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today.
The advisory affects all of the Big Country, Concho Valley, and the Heartland, where high heat index values between 105 and 108 degrees are expected.

The extreme heat will significantly increase the risk of heat-related illnesses. Residents are urged to take the following precautions:
- Drink plenty of water.
- Avoid strenuous outdoor activities.
- Take breaks in the shade or air-conditioned buildings.
- Never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles.

- Today: Sunny and hot, with a high near 108. Heat index values could reach as high as 108. Winds will shift from southwest to south-southeast at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.
- Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 79. South-southeast winds around 10 mph.
- Friday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 105. South-southwest winds at 10 mph, gusting up to 20 mph.
- Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 79. South winds at 10 mph, gusting up to 20 mph.
- Saturday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 102. South winds at 10 to 15 mph, gusting up to 20 mph.
- Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 77. South-southeast winds at 5 to 15 mph, gusting up to 25 mph.
