‘Marginal Risk’ of Severe Weather Today for San Angelo

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – According to the National Weather Service, thunderstorms are expected this afternoon across the region, with a few storms potentially becoming strong to severe. 

There is a “marginal risk” of large hail and damaging winds. Additionally, heavy rainfall from stronger storms may lead to localized flooding.

Affected Areas: Fisher, Nolan, Sterling, Coke, Runnels, Irion, Tom Green, Concho, Crockett, Schleicher, Sutton, Haskell, Throckmorton, Jones, Shackelford, Taylor, Callahan, Coleman, Brown, McCulloch, San Saba, Menard, Kimble, Mason

Extended Forecast: The threat of thunderstorms will persist into Tuesday and Tuesday night, again with a marginal risk of large hail and damaging winds.

  • Today: There is a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms. The weather will be mostly sunny with a high near 90°F. Winds will be from the east-northeast at around 5 mph.
  • Tonight: There is a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1 a.m. The sky will be partly cloudy, with a low around 69°F. Winds will shift from east-northeast to southeast, ranging from 5 to 10 mph.
  • Tuesday: Showers and thunderstorms have a 20% chance of occurring after 1 p.m. The weather will be mostly sunny with a high near 93°F. Winds will shift from south-southeast to northeast at 5 to 10 mph in the morning.
  • Tuesday Night: There is a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m. The sky will be partly cloudy, with a low around 70°F. Winds will be from the east-southeast at 5 to 10 mph.
  • Wednesday: The forecast predicts mostly sunny weather with a high near 93°F and southeast winds around 5 mph.
  • Wednesday Night: The weather will be mostly clear, with a low of around 71°F. Winds will be from the east at 5 to 10 mph.
