SNYDER, TX - The 2024 big bass fishing season has kicked off with a significant catch at lake J.B. Thomas by angler Lawrence Lee.

ShareLunker 651, weighing an impressive 13.79 pounds, marks the first Legacy Class ShareLunker caught at J.B. Thomas. This achievement adds J.B. Thomas to the list of 76 public reservoirs in Texas that have produced a Legacy Class ShareLunker.

The annual ShareLunker season is set to run from January to December, providing anglers the opportunity to submit their Lunker entries and contribute genetics samples (3 scales from the Lunker). The data collected plays a crucial role in assisting TPWD fisheries biologists in managing trophy bass potential in Texas public waters.

In addition to supporting bass conservation, participants have the chance to win exciting prizes for sharing Lunker and genetics data, recognizing their achievements in the process. This initiative aims to elevate bass fishing in Texas, making it even more remarkable.

Anglers participating in the 2024 ShareLunker season can now prepare by downloading the ShareLunker app and creating an account before hitting the water.
