BALLINGER, TX — Despite the scorching Texas summer, anglers continue to pull monster fish out of O.H. Ivie Reservoir. Via Inland Fisheries San Angelo District-Texas Parks and Wildlife Facebook page, Keith Winters and Todd McMain caught and submitted two bass to the Texas Parks and Wildlife ShareLunker Program.
On July 29, Todd McMain caught a 9.90-lb bass from the O.H. Ivie Reservoir. After he submitted his catch, the Texas Parks and Wildlife ShareLunker Program awarded McMain with the Lunker status.

Keith Winters submitted a 9.66-pound bass to the TPWD ShareLunker program. Keith caught this bass from O.H. Ivie Reservoir on July 31 and was awarded Lunker status.

The ShareLunker Program awards different levels according to the weight of the fish caught. According to the ShareLunker program’s standards, any fish over eight lbs or 24 inches becomes part of the ShareLunker program and achieves the Lunker status. Likewise, any fish in the double digits in weight achieves Elite status, and finally, any fish caught that weighs more than 12 lbs achieves Legend status.
