NWS: Heat Warning Replaced This Weekend with Seasonal Temps, Rain Chances

SAN ANGELO – The Excessive Heat Warning currently in place for West Texas will be replaced with more seasonal temperatures and a slight chance of rain by the weekend.

According to Meteorologists with the National Weather Service office at Mathis Field in San Angelo, the Excessive Heat Warning is in effect until 8 p.m. Wednesday because of high temperatures between 105 and 111 degrees.

That Warning might not be extended to Wednesday because the high temperature is currently forecast at 108 degrees gradually reducing each day to 99 degrees by Saturday.  Experts may reduce the Excessive Heat Warning with a Heat Advisory Wednesday and Thursday.

It has been 14 days since the high temperature in San Angelo has been below 100 degrees.

The slight rain chances begin Saturday night at 20% and continues through Monday.  Forecasters are not sure if or when it will rain in San Angelo over the weekend.
