AUSTIN, TX — The popular outdoor products manufacturer YETI released a hot ticket item on Tuesday that is already flying off the shelves. YETI dropped their own 12” cast-iron skillet that is already sold out on their website. The company known for making incredibly durable outdoor products says that this is “the last skillet you will ever need.”
To some, that could be because of the price. At $400, the cast-iron kitchen tool is well above the average market price. Get ready to break the bank if and when the company restocks the product. If one was looking for a last-minute Father’s Day gift, then this skillet might have been the perfect option, but as with most new big-ticket items, the people will have to wait. YETI offered free Father’s Day shipping ahead of the launch, which many people took advantage of before the product became out of stock.
Per YETI’s website, “Working with cast iron masters over at Butter Pat Industries in Maryland, we’ve created the ultimate campsite skillets. Each skillet is painstakingly hand-cast, creating a smoother, thinner skillet with beautifully balanced heat. Born for both the wild and your home burner, get it blazing hot to sear a nice, thick crust on a juicy ribeye or toss together a buttery side of locally foraged mushrooms. It’s a blank canvas for generations of live-fire feasting and an heirloom you’ll want to pass down.”
Because each skillet is hand-cast, it is unknown when more of the product will become available, but if someone wants to drop $400 on the new product, they get not only the skillet but also a metal ring rag and scraper card for cleaning and a cotton storage bag. While the item may not be worth the price, the skillet is a collector’s item.
