NWS: Slight Chance of Rain with Cooler Temps to Start the Week

SAN ANGELO – There is a slight chance for additional rain Monday afternoon as a cold front pushes through and bring cooler temperatures heading into the week across West Texas.

According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo, a cold front will filter across West Central Texas and become stationary roughly between the Big Country and the Concho Valley around noon.

Severe thunderstorms could develop in the Big Country around the Abilene area Monday afternoon while scattered and isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible in the Concho Valley.  There is a 30% chance of rain across the region.

Temperatures across West Central Texas will top out in the mid 70s for Monday and increase to the mid  90s Tuesday afternoon before dropping back into the 70s for the remainder of the week.  The rain chances leave the area Monday evening.

This is a developing weather situation and areas that do see thunderstorms could see severe weather including large hail, high winds and dangerous lightning.
