Fish in Area Lakes Survived the Winter Storm and Some Are Biting

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – A variety of fish are biting on lakes in and around San Angelo this week. 

Here are reports of what's biting and where from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. 

Nasworthy- Fish are fair. Black bass are sticking south in Pecan Creek near submerged brush and vegetation. Catfish can be caught throughout the lake on live baits and prepped baits. Crappie on jigs staying near structures under 12 feet. Starting to move from the creeks are the white bass.

O.C. Fisher- Fish are fair. For largemouth bass use plastic worms, spinners, and jigs between 5 and 12 feet. Use minnows for crappie in the southwest creeks. Catfish throughout using live baits, stink baits, and cut baits. White bass on points and island structures.

O.H. Ivie- Use think worms and bass jigs on black bass in vegetation and fallen timber. For crappie use live minnows in deep nature structures. Catfish are good on stink baits, live baits, and cut baits.

Twin Buttes- Black bass after 10 a.m. on points and moving towards shallow creeks and vegetation. Crappie in the Concho River around man made structures. Catfish on live baits, prepped baits, and cut baits.
