NWS: Winter Storm Could Bring Snow Sunday

SAN ANGELO, TX – A strong upper level storm system will move across the Concho Valley and the Big Country this weekend bringing a chance for rain and snow.

According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo most of the snowfall will be in the Big Country and along I-20 to the north of San Angelo and the Concho Valley.

The NWS has issued a winter storm watch for the Big Country.

The upper level storm system will move across the Concho Valley early Sunday bringing rain.  The rain is forecast to turn to snow Sunday afternoon.  Temperatures Sunday will be in the mid 30s and meteorologists are unsure about snow accumulation in the Concho Valley.

Temperatures will drop across the region to the mid 20s Sunday night so any precipitation that falls could cause slick or icy roadways especially bridges and overpasses for the Monday morning commute.

There is a 90 percent chance of rain and snow in the area Sunday.

This is a developing weather situation.
