SAN ANGELO, TX – People drive by Twin Buttes Reservoir and Lake Nasworthy near San Angelo every day. Here's how the popular lakes are connected.
Both lakes are surface water supplies for the City of San Angelo and they are interconnected.
Water from Twin Buttes flows into Nasworthy through a large conduit under the Twin Buttes dam.
Water flow is regulated by a series of gates operated from the structure atop the dam.
The conduit is located on the north end of Twin Buttes dam near the spillway.
The conduit runs from Twin Buttes to Nasworthy.

Since the dam was completed, area residents have used the cage as a swim and dive platform. The spillway has been covered with graffiti since it was opened. The dam was constructed by the Bureau of Reclamation and is operated by the City of San Angelo.
COSA has restricted access to the outlet into Lake Nasworthy and to the spillway.
The hill sides at Twin Buttes are popular hiking and four-wheeling areas and there are miles of trails accessible from Twin Buttes and Middle Concho Park at Lake Nasworthy.
A limited use permit from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department is required to access Twin Buttes.
