Earthquake Recorded Outside of Midland

 

MIDLAND, TX – The United States Geological Survey reported a 2.6 magnitude earthquake which was recorded just 3.1 miles north of Midland on Monday afternoon around 4:09 p.m.

Reports indicate the earthquake was recorded roughly 5.0 km below the Earth's surface. 

The latest reported seismic activity in West Texas was reported on June 26 when three small earthquakes struck  west of Mentone, TX roughly 23 miles north of Pecos.

Seismic reports indicate the three earthquakes were registered as 2.6, 2.7, and a 2.9 magnitude earthquakes.

According to Earthquaketrack.com Midland has recorded one earthquake in the past 24 hours, one earthquake in the past 7 days, and one earthquake in the last 30 days.
