NWS: Heat Advisory Tuesday Afternoon
SAN ANGELO, TX – A heat advisory will be in effect for most of the Concho Valley Tuesday afternoon.
Heat index values of up to 107 degrees are expected across much of West Central Texas from noon Tuesday day to 7 p.m.
Hot and humid conditions will contribute to an increased risk for heat related illnesses today.
Hot temperatures and high humidity may result in heat related illnesses.
A Heat Advisory means that hot weather conditions are occurring or expected. This will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible.
Never, ever, leave children or pets alone in enclosed vehicles, not even for a few minutes.
Isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms are also possible late this afternoon and evening across much of West Central Texas.
The main hazards will be strong wind gusts, hail and dangerous lightning.
Expect hot and humid conditions again on Wednesday, resulting in an increased threat of heat related illnesses.
