NWS: Tornado Watch for San Angelo and West Texas

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK has issued a tornado watch for San Angelo and most of west central Texas until midnight Wednesday night.

A tornado watch means weather conditions could allow tornadoes to form within any severe thunderstorm. 

Severe thunderstorms are possible this evening through early Thursday morning.

The main hazards will be large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes.

The forecast calls for a chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 8 p.m. Some of the storms could be severe.

Low around 60. South wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
