San Angelo’s Guidelines for Disposing of Christmas Trees

SAN ANGELO, TX - As the holiday season comes to an end, San Angelo residents are asked to dispose of live Christmas trees responsibly, aligning with the city’s waste collection policies.

Trees are collected as part of normal bulk pickup services. Residents should place their trees on the curb before 7 a.m. on their designated bulk collection day. To prepare trees for collection, all ornaments, decorations, and lights must be removed. This ensures proper handling and processing by waste crews.

The City of San Angelo recycles collected Christmas trees into mulch, reducing landfill waste. The recycled mulch can be used for landscaping and gardening.

Items such as wrapping paper, packing materials, gift bags, ribbons, bows, and Styrofoam are not recyclable and should be disposed of separately in regular waste.

For detailed pickup schedules, residents can refer to the city’s recycling and bulk pickup calendar, available on the official City of San Angelo website.
