USPS Releases 2024 Holiday Shipping Deadlines, Urges Early Mailings

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The U.S. Postal Service has released its recommended mailing and shipping dates for holiday packages and mail, urging customers to plan ahead for a smooth holiday season.

To ensure delivery by December 25, here are the key dates for items sent to addresses in the contiguous United States:

  • USPS Ground Advantage service: December 18
  • First-Class Mail service: December 18
  • Priority Mail service: December 19
  • Priority Mail Express service: December 21

For shipments to Alaska and Hawaii, the recommended dates are slightly earlier:

  • USPS Ground Advantage service: December 16
  • First-Class Mail service: December 18
  • Priority Mail service: December 19
  • Priority Mail Express service: December 20

Customers sending packages internationally or to military addresses are encouraged to check the complete list of recommended mailing dates at usps.com/holidayshippingdates.

In a release, USPS emphasizes the importance of early shipping this holiday season. “The earlier you send, the better; don’t delay — mail and ship today!” the agency advises.
