My name is Alvin Hale. I recently retired after serving over 18 years as bailiff for the 391st District Court.
I am also a retired Texas DPS Trooper and have served a total of 47 years in law enforcement.
As the Court’s bailiff, I was present daily for all the matters that came before the Court.
I can assure you from my first hand experience, that some of the worst crimes committed in our area are tried in the 391st; including a capital murder just last year.
The Grand Jury typically hands down 100-150 indictments per month and currently, there are 5 capital murder cases pending in our District Courts.
Cases like these come before the 391st regularly. And when they do, Brad Goodwin has the in-depth experience to preside over them.
The Court also handles the entire Tom Green County juvenile criminal docket, where juveniles have committed crimes. Brad Goodwin has the unique knowledge to handle these cases and put those juveniles on the correct path. This not only helps the juvenile, but also helps protect our community from future crime.
And, of course, the Court hears civil cases. Brad Goodwin has the experience and demeanor for civil law as well.
I know Brad Goodwin. I know his background, and I have seen him at work in the 391st District Court.
I believe he will make a great judge.
I am voting for Brad Goodwin, and I hope you will too.
