My friend Thomas Graham and I met when we were both volunteering in Iowa for the ill-fated Rick Perry 2012 presidential campaign. Graham and I share several things in common, though being a city slicker, he's much more polished than me. Graham is from West Texas and earned his degree at Abilene Christian. I grew up in the city, Houston, but went to A&M. One trait we both share is that we don't like to lose. And after putting our hearts and souls into Perry 2012, that sinking feeling the night of the Iowa Causus on Jan. 5, 2012 still haunts both of us. And since 2012, we've often discussed what could have been, and how Perry can make a comeback in 2016. Here's Graham's take.
"The familiar Texan twang of a good friend bellowed from my phone’s headset: “Did you catch Governor Perry yesterday on Mornng Joe? That’s the guy we remember!” More.
