Gonzales County Sheriff Loses Battle Against COVID-19

 

GONZALES  –– The Gonzales County Sheriff's Office is mourning the loss of Sheriff Robert Ynclan who died of Covid Sunday.

According to the sheriff's office, the 63-year-old was infected with COVID-19 in August and passed away on September 5th.

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar reacted to the sad news on a Facebook post.

"This gentle giant, who was a great friend and partner in law enforcement, lost his battle with COVID-19. Prayers for his family and his agency."

Before becoming sheriff in 2020, Ynclan served as a DPS state trooper for 35 years.

Ynclan is survived by his wife, three children, and two grandchildren.
