Covid Pressure Forces Hospital to Hire Patient Sitters

 

ABILENE – As Abilene hospitals continue to grapple with the surge of Covid-19 patients, Hendrick Health is now hiring non-clinical patient sitters.

Individuals assigned to this position will be assigned to a patient that requires continuous and close visual monitoring.

Patient sitters will be expected to observe adult, geriatric, and mental health patients.

According to the job listing, applicants should have completed their high school education or have an equivalent. 

Those selected will be required to undergo Sitter training before they are assigned to a patient.

The position will be completed in 12-hour shifts.
