Abilene Couple Dies of Coronavirus Only 12 Days Apart

ABILENE, TX -- An Abilene police officer is facing major losses this holiday season after losing both parents less than two weeks apart.

On December 11, Officer Adam Richardson lost his father, Glen, to COVID-19.

Mr. Richardson was a teacher at Abilene ISD since 1989. He taught at Locus Elementary School before moving to Mann Middle School in 1995.

Mr. Richardson and his wife Charlene had both hospitalized with coronavirus at Hendrick Medical Center.

On Wednesday morning, Mrs. Richardson was moved to the ICU and put on a ventilator. She passed away later that night.

The Abilene Police Officers Association has created a GoFundMe account to help the Richardson family cover any medical and funeral expenses.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to one of our brothers in blue," said  APOA.
