Coronavirus By the Numbers: Daily State Map Shows Slight Drop in Hospitalizations

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – On Monday the Texas Department of State Health Services reported 3,714,821 total tests administered with approximately 146,836 active cases of coronavirus in Texas. 

Prior to Tuesday's update from the DSHS, the total number of cases reported had risen from the 381,656 previously reported to the 385,923 listed in Monday's Report.

Statewide fatality tolls increased from the 5,038 previously reported to the 5,713 reported Monday.

On Monday, DSHS reported there were approximately 229,107 recoveries statewide. 

According to DSHS approximately 3,428,882 of the positive cases have been confirmed using viral testing, while an additional 235,797 have been confirmed using antibody testing.

The Texas counties with the highest number of active cases are Harris county with 65,349 active cases, followed by Dallas with 46,813, and Bexar with 30,529.

The Texas counties with the highest number of fatalities currently are Harris county with 1,100, followed by Dallas with 581, and Bexar with 480.

Counties with the highest number of active recoveries are Dallas with 29,226, Bexar with 21,505, and Harris with 21,485. 

According to DSHS, the state averages approximately 4,267 new cases of Covid-19 daily with an estimated 44 coronavirus related fatalities.

Monday's report from DSHS shows approximately 9,781 active hospitalizations due to Covid-19.

 

Current Statewide Hospital Availability Levels are as follows:

  • 54,271 - Total Staffed Hospital Beds Available
  • 12,723 - Total Available Hospital Beds
  • 1,345 - Available ICU Beds
  • 6,073 - Available Ventilators
