Coronavirus By the Numbers: Daily State Map Shows Active Cases Near 150K

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – On Sunday the Texas Department of State Health Services reported 3,664, 679 total tests administered with approximately 147,511 active cases of coronavirus in Texas. 

Prior to Monday's update from the DSHS, the number of cases reported had risen from the 332,434 previously reported to the 381,656 listed in Sunday's Report.

Statewide fatality tolls increased from the 4,020 previously reported to the 5,038 reported Sunday.

On Sunday, DSHS reported there were approximately 229,107 recoveries statewide. 

According to DSHS approximately 3,369,975 of the positive cases have been confirmed using viral testing, while an additional 234,534 have been confirmed using antibody testing.

The Texas counties with the highest number of active cases are Harris county with 64,113 active cases, followed by Dallas with 46,013, and Bexar with 30,319.

The Texas counties with the highest number of fatalities currently are Harris county with 636, followed by Dallas with 604, and Hidalgo county with 456.

Counties with the highest number of active recoveries are Dallas with 28,260, Bexar with 21,505, and Harris with 21,189. 

According to DSHS, the state averages approximately 5,810 new cases of Covid-19 daily with an estimated 153 coronavirus related fatalities.

Sunday's report from DSHS shows approximately 10,075 active hospitalizations due to Covid-19.

 

Current Statewide Hospital Availability Levels are as follows:

  • 54,974 - Total Staffed Hospital Beds Available
  • 11,443 - Total Available Hospital Beds
  • 1,243 - Available ICU Beds
  • 5,544 - Available Ventilators
