San Angelo Surge Continues with Another Record Day for COVID-19

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The City of San Angelo's Health Department announced another record day for Coronavirus numbers. 

First the City of San Angelo announced the death of two patients from COVID-19 complications. The first was a patient in her 70s and the second was a young woman in her 30s. Here is the story: Coronavirus: Two More Deaths in San Angelo Including a Young Woman

Then the city announced another 95 new positive cases of COVID-19 today: 63 PCR cases and 32 antigen cases. This is the largest number of new positive cases to date.

According to the DSHS COVID-19 map as of July 13 at 3:30 p.m. Trauma Service Area K, which is made up of Coke, Concho, Crockett, Irion, Kimble, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Reagan, Runnels, Schleicher, Sterling, Sutton, and Tom Green County, serves 179,457 citizens. 

413 hospital beds are currently staffed and there are currently 170 beds available. There are only 15 ICU beds left but 34 Ventilators are still available. In San Angelo the City reported 38 lab-confirmed COVID-19 patients in the hospital. In the service region there are 39 currently hospitalized.

Since the beginning of the pandemic the City of San Angelo's Health Department has reported 1,160 positive cases. There are currently 664 active cases in San Angelo.

The 664 active cases - are they all in San Angelo or are they throughout the Trauma Service Area K?
