Coronavirus By the Numbers: Death Toll on the Rise in Texas

 

On Thursday the Texas Department of Health Services reported 2,603,903 total tests administered with 109,102 active cases of coronavirus in Texas. 

Following Thursday's update from the Texas Department of Health Services, the number of confirmed cases has risen from the 210,585 previously reported to the 230,346 listed in Thursday's report. 

Current fatality tolls increased from 2,715 reported on Tuesday to the 2,918 recorded on Thursday.

On Thursday DSHS reported there were 118,326 recoveries statewide. 

Over 2,313,212 of the positive cases have been confirmed using viral testing, while an additional 213,728 have been confirmed using antibody testing.

Out of the 254 counties in Texas, 246 are currently reporting current positive coronavirus cases. 

Following a recent spike in positive cases across the state, Texas currently averages nearly 9,782 new cases of coronavirus daily according to Texas Department of Health and Human Services.

The three Texas counties with the highest case counts are Harris County (40,012), Dallas County (29,160), and Bexar County (16,725).

The three Texas counties with  the highest coronavirus related deaths are Dallas County (426), Harris County (411), Tarrant County (254).
