Taylor County Offers Free Coronavirus Drive-thru Testing

MERKEL, TX – Taylor County continues offering free drive-thru testing during this week for its residents.

The testing, available from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Tuesday: Merkel City Hall
  • Wednesday: Buffalo Gap Flea Market Grounds
  • Thursday: Lawn Baptist Church (518 Ave D)

The testing is by appointment only that can be made online txcovidtest.org or by calling 512-883-2400.

Patients must exhibit one of the following symptoms to be eligible for testing.

  • fever and/or chills
  • cough
  • fatigue
  • body aches/muscle joint pain
  • shortness of breath
  • sore throat
  • headaches
  • nausea/vomiting/diarrhea
  • nasal congestion
  • loss of taste and/or smell
