Got Lunch Plans? Get a Brisket Plate Benefitting the San Angelo Family Shelter

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — In Tom Green County, approximately 50 percent of all calls for service for law enforcement are for a domestic disturbance. Every domestic abuse case has victims, and the community must meet the needs of those who are impacted by this problem.

A few years ago, Tom Green County Sheriff David Jones discussed the strain domestic abuse places on law enforcement, but also admitted that the problem cannot be solved by law enforcement alone. It requires community volunteer efforts.

The San Angelo Family Shelter is a refuge for victims of domestic abuse. If it didn’t exist, and it nearly went broke two years ago, this community would have no options for mothers and their children who may be in danger for their lives. Today, under new leadership, our community's family shelter is healthy once again. But it still needs money to for its operations,

Saturday, March 3, from 11 p.m. until the food is gone, The Lone Wolf Pub, 115 Pain Rock Rd., is selling barbecue brisket plates for $10 each. All of the proceeds go towards financing Tom Green County’s Family Shelter.

If you’re looking for lunch, this is a great way to support a much needed charity in Tom Green County.
