San Angeloans Celebrate Texas Independence Day with BBQ Cook Off & Car Show

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The 11th annual Texas Independence Day celebration takes place Saturday March 3 at the El Paseo De Santa Angela on S. Oaks St.  

The event includes a BBQ cook off, a chili cook off, a car show, arts and crafts vendors and children’s activities according to the Chamber of Commerce.  

Festivities get underway at 10 a.m. Saturday.  For more information, call Judy Fowler at 325-949-6200.  

Texas Independence Day is March 2, 1836 when delegates signed the Texas Declaration of Independence from Mexico.  The day has been celebrated every year since then.
