SAN ANGELO, TX — The Angelo State University Chorale will present its final concert of the spring season on Thursday, May 2, at the First Presbyterian Church, 32 N. Irving St. in downtown San Angelo.
Titled "Circle of Life," the concert will begin at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. It will include performances by the ASU Chorale, Chamber Singers, and Glee Club, as well as a new Combined Tenor-Bass Chorus, with Hunter Mabery, staff accompanist, on piano. The musical program will include:
Opening Solo
- "Turning Tables" by Adele Adkins and Ryan Tedder, featuring soloist Kiara Washington
ASU Chamber Singers
- "I'm Gonna Sing 'Til the Spirit Moves in My Heart" by Moses Hogan
- "Come to Me, My Love" by Norman Dello Joio
- "Man in the Mirror" arranged by Deke Sharon
- "I Have Nothing" by David Foster and Linda Thompson
ASU Glee Club
- "Joshua Fit, the Battle of Jericho", arranged by Andre Thomas
- "Tell My Father" from "The Civil War: An American Musical" arranged by Andrea Ramsey
- "I'll Make a Man Out of You" from "Mulan" arranged by Roger Emerson
Combined Tenor-Bass Chorus
- "River in Judea" arranged by John Leavitt
- "Agony" from "Into the Woods" by Stephen Sondheim
- "Vanilla Ice Cream" from "She Loves Me" by Jerry Bock
ASU Chorale
- "Kumbaya" arranged by Stacey V. Gibbs
- "Sing Gently" by Eric Whitacre
- "You Say" arranged by Heather Sorenson
- "Can I Have This Dance?" from "High School Musical 3" by Nikki and Adam Anders
- "Circle of Life" from "The Lion King" arranged by Roger Emerson
The 39-member ASU Chorale comprises students from academic departments across campus, and it includes the members of the other three smaller ensembles. The ASU Chamber Singers serve as the leadership core of the Chorale. All the ensembles are directed by Dr. Eric Posada, ASU director of choral activities.
