SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State University's regional office of the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women's Health will host its 10th annual "Girl Power: Girls in Real Life," an event designed to empower young girls and the women in their lives, on Saturday, January 27, in the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.
The free event is open to 3rd - 5th grade girls and their mothers or other important women in their lives and will start at 3 p.m. in the University Center's C.J. Davidson Conference Center. The program will include a presentation by Miss Texas 2023, Ellie Breaux, as well as a panel discussion by local women on what it means to be "Girls in Real Life."
Attendees will also participate in fun break-out sessions on various topics, including improving self-esteem, activity level, nutrition, internet safety, and communication with their peers. The event will also include gift bags, lunch, prizes, free photos, and much more.
Registration will begin at 2:30 p.m., and the program will run from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Founded in 2010, the ASU office of the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women's Health is dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in Texas and across the nation by advancing multidisciplinary science in women's health.
