San Angelo ISD Offering Full Day Tuition-Based Pre-Kindergarten

SAN ANGELO – The San Angelo Independent School District is now offering a limited-capacity, full day tuition-based Pre-Kindergarten for children 4 years old on or before September 1, 2023 living within the San Angelo ISD attendance boundaries.

Unlike traditional childcare options for 4 year olds, San Angelo ISD recognizes the sights, sounds, curiosity, and physical activity that children experience before the age of five contributes greatly to the child’s brain development, and our Pre-K program is designed with this in mind. It is the goal of San Angelo ISD to offer high quality learning opportunities that aim to ensure children leave preschool ready for success in Kindergarten. 

Our Pre-K program is designed to provide your child with skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing through instruction by a certified teacher utilizing curriculum based on the Texas Education Agency’s Pre-K guidelines and is aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. Students will receive free universal breakfast daily and lunches are available for purchase. 

Families living within the district attendance zone and SAISD employees are eligible to enroll in the tuition-based Pre-K program through online enrollment for new students and are placed through a lottery system based on capacity in the program. The tuition for the Pre-K program is $450/month per student for the general public and $360/month per student for SAISD employees for each of the ten months of the school year regardless of the number of days in the month.

According to the SAISD, space is limited, so register today to reserve your student’s spot. To register your student for the Pre-K program, you will need to complete a “New Student Registration Form” online at www.saisd.org/register.
