MIDLAND, TX – The Midland Independent School District has officially placed former Superintendent Orlando Riddick on administrative leave.
As previously reported, on August 26, the Midland ISD school board voted to terminate the contract of Superintendent Orlando Riddick. Here is the story: Midland ISD Board Votes to Terminate Superintendent's Contract
During the school board meeting on August 31, trustees officially voted to terminate Riddick's contract. He has 15 days to request a hearing from an independent hearing examiner.
If terminated the school district would have to pay the remainder of his contract which is set to expire in 2022. Riddick's yearly salary is $275,000.
In the mean time, MISD Chief Financial Officer Darrell Dodds will act as interim superintendent until the school board finds Riddick's replacement.
