ASU’s Security Studies Program Ranked in the Top Ten

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- (ASU Press Release) ASU’s online Masters of Science in homeland security degree program ranked No. 7 in the U.S. and was the only program at a Texas school ranked in the top 10. Criteria for the rankings included admissions rates, student loan default rates, retention rates, graduation rates and the percent of students enrolled in online classes. Data for the rankings was provided by the National Center for Education Statistics.

Angelo State’s M.S. in homeland security degree is a 36-credit program that is offered through eight-week courses and is designed to meet the growing needs of homeland security, law enforcement and emergency management personnel.

On a related noted, ASU’s graduate certificate program in emergency management has been ranked No. 4 among the nation’s “Top 35 Online Graduate Certificates in Emergency Management” by the DegreeQuery.com higher education resource guide.

Only programs at accredited colleges and universities were eligible for the rankings, which were based on academic quality and affordability. Sam Houston State University (No. 24) was the only other Texas school to join ASU in the rankings.

ASU’s graduate certificate in emergency management is a 12-credit program for students interested in careers related to homeland security, cyber security, information technology, emergency management or law enforcement. It is designed to enhance knowledge of national and international security issues in the areas of emergency management and disaster preparedness.
