ASU Summer Computer Code Camp Has Spots Available

ASU’s Department of Computer Science will be hosting an annual ASU Code Camp June 6-17 in the Mathematics-Computer Science Building, 2200 Dena Drive, on the ASU campus.

There are still available spots for those interested in registering for the class.

The two-week camp works with junior high and high school students interested in computer science and coding. Dr.William Wolfe, chair of the Computer Science Department, will be directing the event.

Students will learn to design, implement and test computer code using the Java programming language and the Unity3D Game Engine. They will also learn the basics of computer science as they work in groups to implement a variety of applications.

Activities will run from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, June 6-10 and 13-17, in Room 100 of the MCS building. The Registration fee is $30 per person, and advance registration is required.

No previous experience with coding is needed. Students with prior programming experience, or who have attended previous ASU Code Camps will work on more advanced projects.

To register for the Code Camp, contact Belinda Saaranen in the Computer Science Department at 325-942-2101 or email [email protected].
