School District Names New Administrators

San Angelo ISD has announced the principals who will take the top post at two of the district's elementary schools and two classroom teachers who have been named as assistant principals.

Dave Danner, Principal at Holiman Elementary, will take the helm at Fannin Elementary. He takes the place of Dr. Tonya McDonald, who has accepted a position with another district.  Mr. Danner has been employed by San Angelo ISD for the past 12 years--eight years as a classroom teacher at Holiman and four years as campus principal. He holds a bachelor's degree in occupational education and a master's degree in school administration and has established a strong tradition of excellence during his years at Holiman.

Dr. Jason Skelton, a San Angelo native, will take Danner’s place as Holiman Elementary Principal.  Dr. Skelton holds a bachelor’s degree from Angelo State, a master’s degree from the University of Texas Permian Basin, and a doctorate from Texas Tech. He has most recently served as the principal of Crosbyton Elementary in Crosbyton, Texas. He has also held positions in Lubbock ISD, Midland ISD and Sonora ISD, where he has served in the capacities of teacher, instructional coach and assistant principal.  Skelton is known for his leadership abilities with student leadership teams and Professional Learning Communities.

Central Freshman Campus science teacher Lindsay Carr has been named assistant principal at Austin Elementary.  Mrs. Carr holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Angelo State University and has served as a teacher and coach in three different districts prior to joining the SAISD team in 2013.

Lincoln Middle School Social Studies teacher Darius Flowers will become an assistant principal at Glenn Middle School.  Mr. Flowers, a three-sport letterman and graduate of Lake View High School, holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech and a Master’s degree from Angelo State.  Mr. Flowers joined the staff of Lincoln Middle School in 2013.

In other district news, Bonham Elementary fifth grade math teacher Lorraine Campos has transitioned to Instructional Coach at Belaire Elementary.  Mrs. Campos, the district’s 2013 Elementary Teacher of the Year, has 16 years of experience in the district and is widely recognized for innovative practices in mathematics.
