SAN ANGELO, TX — Ray Vera has been convicted of murdering U.S. Marine Bryce Rudisell by stabbing him in the chest in the side parking lot of the Whiskey River Saloon during a fight between Vera's group and a group of troops stationed at Goodfellow Air Force Base.
Defense attorneys for Ray Vera rested and closed their case Tuesday morning but only after the trial court judge disallowed testimony from their expert witness.
Hunsberger said he then saw Rudisell fall to the ground with the stab wound. He said Vera kept calling them ‘F*cking Pu**ies’ and ‘Bitches’ as the other group was leaving in a black SUV.
At some point, the dance floor got crowded and one of them bumped into the defendant Ray Vera. They attempted to apologize but Vera kept arguing. Huntsberger said Vera called them "F*cking F*gg*ts,"
Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Corrections Officers report 29 individuals were booked into the Tom Green County Jail since the last daily update on charges including Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Fake IDs, and multiple Public Intoxication and DWI.
Like a scene from a 90s TV drama series, a Naval Criminal Investigation Service NCIS investigator took the stand Friday to testify about enhancing surveillance and cell phone videos of the fatal stabbing at Whiskey River Saloon.
