Rio Grande City Station agents encountered four large groups totaling 685 noncitizens in Starr County over the past week. The illegal aliens are from Central and South America, Asia, and Caribbean.
The couple informed agents that their two boys, 7 and 9 years old, were swept away by strong river currents while attempting to cross into the United States.
