SAN ANGELO, TX - On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant in the 4700 block of Spillway Road following an investigation into failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements.
During the operation, 39-year-old Colin Blanek was detained, and investigators recovered evidence pertinent to the offense. On May 7, 2026, Blanek was formally arrested and charged with two counts of a sex offender's duty to register.
At the time of his arrest, Blanek was on probation for indecency with a child by exposure and was out on bond for three prior indictments related to registration violations from September 2024 and December 2025.
"The Sheriff's Office extends its appreciation to the Texas Department of Public Safety for their collaborative assistance," information from the sheriff's office stated. "The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office remains steadfast in its commitment to pursuing and holding accountable those who exploit the innocent."
