SAN ANGELO, TX — A 31-year-old San Angelo woman has been charged with first-degree murder after allegedly shooting a man in the face, stabbing him multiple times, dismembering his body and placing the torso in a dumpster, according to an affidavit obtained by San Angelo LIVE!
Audrey Reannan Troncoso is accused of intentionally and knowingly causing the death of Roland Matthew Sheppard, 34, on or about June 23. Bond was set at $2 million, the affidavit states.
The investigation began after San Angelo police received a Crime Stoppers tip on June 24. The tip alleged that Troncoso shot Sheppard in the face in a back room of a house on the 1400 block of Parker Street the previous night, cut up his body, wrapped the torso in Christmas paper and placed it in a dumpster at the Appletree Apartments on Baker Street.
Officers learned a Republic Services trash truck had already emptied the dumpster. Police had the truck pulled from its route and taken to the Republic Services landfill at 3002 Old Ballinger Highway, where detectives searched its contents in a designated area.
During the search, detectives recovered two bags from the truck. One bag contained a large amount of fresh blood that was still wet, silver metallic wrapping, cut tan carpet and a pair of blue jeans. A second bag contained a dismembered human torso.
A search warrant was executed at 1400 Parker St. Additional human remains were found in containers inside a red Lincoln Navigator parked in the driveway. Troncoso told police the vehicle was hers.
During a recorded interview after receiving Miranda warnings, Troncoso confessed to shooting Sheppard in the head and face area, then stabbing him numerous times on various parts of his body until he died. She described dismembering the body with several knives and a saw, placing the torso in a trash bag and transporting it to the dumpster at the Appletree Apartments. She also said she mixed concrete to submerge and conceal the victim’s arms, legs and head in containers at the residence.
Police said a photograph of the torso recovered from the dumpster showed tattoos that matched known images of Sheppard. Troncoso was further connected to the victim through a Facebook profile that contained photos of the two together.
Troncoso is being held within the Tom Green County Jail.
