13-Year-Old Texas Girl Fights Off Alleged Kidnapper by Biting Him Twice

GALVESTON, TX — Galveston police are investigating an attempted kidnapping that occurred Monday morning near the city’s East End after a 13-year-old girl reportedly fought off a man by biting him twice.

According to the Galveston Police Department, officers were called to Central Middle School at approximately 6:58 a.m. on Oct. 27 after receiving reports that a student walking to school had been approached and grabbed by an unknown man.

The girl told officers she was walking from her family’s East End apartment when she heard footsteps behind her near the 900 block of 28th Street. She said the man grabbed her from behind, sparking a brief struggle during which she bit him twice before managing to break free and run to the school.

Police said the victim did not sustain any physical injuries. Teachers at Central Middle School contacted police after hearing the student’s account. An alert was also issued to local medical facilities to notify authorities if anyone sought treatment for bite-related injuries.

Investigators later reviewed security footage from a business in the 1000 block of 24th Street, showing the girl walking through the area followed by a man taking the same path. The suspect is described as a White or Hispanic male wearing a black short-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and a ski mask.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Galveston Police Department at 409-765-3777 or Galveston County Crime Stoppers at 409-763-8477. Tips may also be submitted anonymously at www.galveston.crimestoppersweb.com.
