SAN ANGELO, TX — A Sterling County man was arrested Monday after deputies found firearms and drugs during a welfare check at a convenience store, according to the Sterling County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a Stripes on Sept. 1 around 7:30 a.m. for a report of two individuals slumped over in a vehicle who would not wake up. Sheriff Irby arrived and saw a bag of marijuana in plain view, prompting a probable cause search of the vehicle.
Deputy Shields assisted with the search, which led to the discovery of two firearms, approximately 26 grams of methamphetamine, 22 grams of cocaine, and other drug paraphernalia, officials said.
The male subject, identified as 38-year-old Billy Williams, was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail on felony drug and gun charges. Williams also had active warrants for a parole violation, theft of property, and falsification of a drug test device, according to jail records.
Williams faces multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and theft of property. His bond was set at $56,000.
