Phony ICE Agent Arrested After Texas Robbery

HOUSTON, TX — A 37-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night in Houston’s Galleria area after allegedly robbing another man while posing as a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent, according to Houston police.

The suspect was taken into custody on Skyline Drive near the intersection of Richmond Avenue and Hillcroft Avenue. Police said the man robbed a 29-year-old victim while impersonating an ICE officer. Authorities did not disclose the amount of money taken or the specific location and time of the robbery.

Charges are pending, and the suspect’s identity has not been released. Police also noted reports that children may have been in the suspect’s vehicle at the time of the arrest, but they have not confirmed that detail.

ICE issued a statement condemning the impersonation, calling it “not only dangerous, but illegal.” The agency stated that its officers are “highly trained and dedicated professionals” and noted that impersonators may face criminal charges at both state and federal levels, including under 18 USC 912.
