Odessa Permian High School Placed on Hold After Fights Involving Students, Parent

ODESSA, TX — Odessa Permian High School was placed on a hold Thursday after a fight between multiple students and even a parent.

According to a statement from Ector County ISD, two girls were initially involved in an altercation inside a building, and several other girls then joined the fight.

School officers and administrators were eventually able to get control of the situation, and the students involved were charged with disorderly conduct.

However, another fight broke out in the parking lot among the girls as they were leaving the school, and this time one of the parents became involved.

The fight in the parking lot prompted a large response from police outside the school.

ECISD stated it will seek additional charges for the students and parent involved in the second fight.

Permian’s campus was temporarily placed in a hold, which prevents students from leaving their classroom.

“We are very appreciative of our ECISD police and our teachers and staff for their immediate, professional response,” the district said in a statement.

A video of the fight inside the school was posted on Facebook by The Permian Insider.
