Texas Man Arrested for Killing Mother While on Bond for Wife’s Murder

ALICE, TX — A 43-year-old man from Alice, who had already been released on bail after being charged with murdering his wife in 2021, was arrested again Tuesday after he admitted to killing his mother.

Howard Harris reportedly called police to tell them he killed his 80-year-old mother, Ardalia Davis.

She was found dead on the couch with a gunshot wound to the head when police arrived at the home. Harris was found in another room, and police disarmed and arrested him.

Harris told officers the devil convinced him to kill his mother, according to Alice Police Chief Eden Garcia.

Harris already had a warrant for his arrest after he was indicted for his wife’s murder and failed to appear in court.

After Tuesday’s arrest, Harris was booked into the Jim Wells County Jail and had no bond.
