'Brittle Bone Baby' Mom Released from Custody

 

SAN ANGELO— The mother of in the 'Brittle Bone Baby' murder case was released from the Tom Green County Jail.

Lesley Moreno, 32, the mother of the child killed in the “Brittle Bone Baby” case, was released from custody Wednesday after being in custody for four years. Moreno pleaded guilty to two lesser counts, one being Reckless Injury to a Child with Serious Bodily Injury and the other being Reckless Injury to a Child with Serious Bodily Injury by omission.  She was originally charged with capital murder.  

In exchange for a guilty plea, Moreno was sentenced to four years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, and they also gave her credit for times served, which was 1770 days. That means that Moreno spent just over 4.8 years in prison and was released yesterday, January 24, 2024, with times served.
