LAREDO, Texas — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers from the Office of Field Operations stationed at the World Trade Bridge confiscated hard narcotics valued at over $10.2 million on the streets.

Port Director Alberto Flores of the Laredo Port of Entry expressed pride in the frontline officers' dedication to ensuring community safety. "This significant seizure exemplifies our continuous daily operations aimed at safeguarding our borders," Flores stated.

The seizure, which took place on Thursday, Dec. 21 at the World Trade Bridge, unfolded when a CBP officer directed a 2001 Freightliner tractor carrying a utility refrigerated trailer, listed as transporting commercial cut flowers, for further inspection. Subsequent to a comprehensive examination utilizing canine units and a non-intrusive inspection system, CBP officers unearthed 164.72 pounds of alleged powdered methamphetamine, 854.07 pounds of purported crystal methamphetamine, and 165.34 pounds of alleged cocaine concealed within the shipment.

The combined street value of these narcotics totaled $10,298,520.
